Recovering from a C-section can be challenging – especially if you didn’t expect your birth to end in a major surgery.
When I gave birth to Shep last year, I was not anticipating needing a C-section. In fact, I very much did NOT want to have a C-section.
It was difficult for me to process having my birth plan go out the window (you can hear that story here, BTW). And on top of that, I suddenly had to face a more difficult healing process than I had planned for.
Between the exhaustion and lack of sleep from the newborn days, the pain from surgery, needing to care for multiple children, and concern about my scar healing, it was a lot.
But there were a few things that helped me recover and support my body during the postpartum season.
So in this episode of the SHE podcast, I share the things that helped me the most when recovering from a C-section, and what I did to help heal my scar.
