​​Recovering from a C-section can be challenging – especially if you didn’t expect your birth to end in a major surgery.

When I gave birth to Shep last year,​ I was not anticipating needing a C-section. In fact, I very much did NOT want to have a C-section.

It was difficult for me to process having my birth plan go out the window (you can hear that story here, BTW)​. And on top of that, I suddenly had to face a more difficult healing process than I had planned for.​​

Between the exhaustion and lack of sleep from the newborn days, the pain from surgery, needing to care for multiple children, and concern about my scar healing, it was a lot.

But there were a few things that helped me recover and support my body during the postpartum season.​​

So in this episode of the SHE podcast, I share the things that helped me the most when recovering from a C-section, and what I did to help heal my scar.
