LISTEN ON YOUR FAVE PLATFORM NOW: APPLE | SPOTIFY | STITCHER
This Monday our Matt and J episode is a little different than what we’ve done in the past but with it being an episode that fell on Matt’s birthday, I thought it’d be fun to have a conversation about a topic he’s really passionate about: women’s empowerment.
Yep, it’s true.
He’s been a Second Amendment advocate since I met him, and for a long time, I didn’t really think much of it or care much about it.
But lately, with today’s cultural climate, I’ve been trying to do my part to be more informed and learn about topics like this.
One thing I’ve learned about my husband, and why he believes so strongly in the right to bear arms, isn’t because he thinks guns are fun.
Instead, I’ve come to learn that he’s actually really passionate about his wife, and women in general, being able to defend themselves with a tool that really serves as a great equalizer.
Instead of just hearing his perspective though, we also brought on a firearms instructor, Antonia Okafur, and I was able to ask her (and Matt) a TON of questions and learn more about women’s empowerment in a different way.
However, they both provided so much wisdom and insight into the fears and concerns so many have surrounding firearms, myself included.
It was so interesting and eye-opening for me.
So, basically, in this episode, I’m learning right along with you. I’m asking the questions and letting the professionals do most of the talking.
If the firearms debate is something you’ve struggled with or don’t really understand, or if you’re into women’s empowerment but never thought about it in this way before, buckle up because this episode is about to rock your socks off!
After listening, tell me in the comments:
What do you think? Should a woman carry a firearm for self-defense?
How do you define women’s empowerment?
