Yep. I have more whitespace in my calendar in 2020 than I’ve ever had before, and it’s been really sweet to see how that’s allowed me time to tap into being creative in ways I’d never anticipated – such as in the kitchen.
I used to always be in such a hurry that I would often order take out or make the same 3 meals.
But the slower pace of life has allowed me more time to get creative and it’s been so good for me.
And this past weekend, as I made soup from scratch, using only a handful of ingredients I found in the fridge, I learned something I never expected to learn when making soup in my slippers.
Look, sometimes the options available to us aren’t the best options for us. Or maybe they’re just straight up not good for us.
What do we do? Do we settle for them or do we get creative, roll our sleeves up, and make something new from scratch?
The soup was simple. I didn’t go full on gourmet. I was just seeing what I could put together to make it work and put food in my belly even if it took a little extra effort.
I think we’re kind of in a time that’s daring us to do that, now.
We are being dared to roll up our sleeves, get creative, and find other ways to get what we need rather than just being able to settle for/follow the status quo.
But first, you need to know the ingredients that go into it. And you want to start out very simple and basic. You don’t need the ingredients to make gourmet stew for the President, especially if you’re just a beginner soup maker. Or in other words, you don’t need the ingredients to build a massive enterprise. You just need the ingredients to start something small on the side.
So, in this episode, I’m answering the question I get asked often, “How do you start your side hustle? What if you have 0 experience doing this whole work from home thing, or don’t consider yourself a business woman?”
Specifically, we’re diving into the 6 “ingredients” you need to get started when you start your side hustle, with your own two hands:
- A Skill
- Experience and Feedback
- A Wifi Connection
- Customers With a Need
- Social Media
- Mentorship and Education
Once you’ve had a chance to listen, tell me in the comments which “ingredient” you think you need help with the most and how you’ll turn insight into action to start your side hustle! Also, if you’re still feeling nervous, listen up to this.
