With a vision to one day be able to stay at home with my family while still contributing financially, I started a small Etsy shop from a storage closet in college. As my small business grew and that dream came true, so did my passion for helping other women who shared the desire to work from home but still do something they love. So around here, you'll find resources and tools to help you steward your home and work well.
Home inspectors, lenders, & real estate agents– oh my!
First time home buying can be a pretty intimidating thought from mortgages and budgeting to packing and furnishing. And don’t get me started on the paper work.
I remember feeling overwhelmed at simply the thought of buying my first home with my husband, Matt.
Where do I start? Who do I talk to? Am I even ready for this?
The questions swirled, but thankfully, I was provided with a great team that made the process a whole heck of a lot easier. And, yes, I am definitely including our parents in this ‘great team.’ Looking back, they provided us with some invaluable advice.
And so, sister, I’d like to pass along these priceless tidbits to you as well. If you’re in in the hunt for a home, or even simply thinking about starting the process, give this episode a listen. You’ll learn a few tips and tricks on how to budget, where to begin with mortgages and premiums, what rooms to unpack first, and why you need to stop apologizing to your first visitors!
Did I mention I bring my hubby in on this episode, too? The story just wouldn’t be complete without his perspective and wisdom as well. I think you’ll be surprised by just how invested he was into this journey! Small secret I’ll share with ya: Matt LOVES Fixer Upper. He’s such a sucker for Chip and Joanna, so he was pumped to find a home. And I love him for it.
Okay, home-buying, sister. Ready to feel empowered for your house buying journey? Give this a listen and start the hunt!
