Have you ever struggled to find or hold onto confidence when walking through difficult circumstances?
Maybe you’re in a tough season and it’s hard for you to even imagine a positive outcome. Or maybe you’re afraid of failure, and you’re not sure how to have confidence in the face of fear.
How do you build confidence and hold onto faith when everything around you seems scary or broken?
That’s the question I asked life coach and author Rachel Luna in this episode of the SHE podcast.
If there’s anyone who knows how to build confidence in the middle of the struggle, it’s this amazing woman.
FROM INSECURE TO LIFE COACH
Having experienced the loss of her mother at an early age, and later walking through abuse, disordered eating, deep-rooted insecurities, challenges in the military, and a breast cancer diagnosis, Rachel Luna is no stranger to challenging circumstances.
But when she started working with a life coach, Rachel began to see her life change as she leaned into faith and built up confidence in the middle of her fear.
Now, years later, Rachel is a Certified Master Coach, international speaker, entrepreneur and author whose goal is helping individuals get clear and confident and start taking consistent action so they can do what they were born to do.
And in today’s episode of the SHE podcast, Rachel and I talked about what it looks like to build confidence in the midst of life’s difficult seasons.
Trust me, you won’t want to miss all the knowledge Rachel brings. She’s bringing FIRE. 🔥🔥
CONFIDENCE COMES FROM ACTION
One of the first things I asked Rachel is how she would define confidence – and guys, I loved her answer.
Rachel explained that for her, it’s is the ability to know that she’s gonna be okay on the other side of whatever she’s attempting to do.
So does that mean that confidence means you have no fear? Of course not.
If you ask Rachel how to build more confidence, she’ll tell you that the first thing you need to do is give up the pursuit of trying to be fearless.
We’ve come to romanticize the idea of being fearless a little too much. We believe that we have to wait until we fear less, or feel really confident before we take action.
But Rachel posed a great question: what if we could release our emotional attachment to being fearless and embrace that it’s okay to do the hard and scary things and pursue our dreams even when we don’t feel confident?
The best step you can do is to take action even when you’re afraid. When we do that, we realize that we can get through the scary things, and it breathes confidence into our lives.
Confidence comes through action.
So, if you’re waiting to feel confident before you take action or take that next step, just move forward anyway. You can still take steps forward even when you’re afraid and even when you don’t feel confident.
And you can also feel confident in the outcome, but still feel scared about the journey.
Just take the next step in front of you – one at a time. Then see what happens.
