It’s no secret that women in our society are on the go all the time – whether it’s because we’re working, transporting the kids to countless activities, taking care of the house, or doing countless other activities on our calendar.

The pressure to be productive has caused us to pursue hamster wheel lifestyles with little rest.

On top of it all, we’re often told that if we want the best health or fitness, we should cut calories, do HIIT workouts, and try intermittent fasting (spoiler alert: these practices are based on research done on men, not women, and can be harmful to women’s hormonal health).

But how does busyness and fitness affect our hormonal health? And how do our hormones change our mental health?

In this episode of the SHE podcast, I spoke with hormone expert Alisa Vitti about the connection between our cycles, hormones, nutrition, fitness, and mental health.
