How to Overcome Other People’s Expectations & Set Goals (Ft. Marie Wold)

I'm Jordan!
I'm a mama by birth and adoption after years of recurrent pregnancy loss with a passion for helping other women support their health and well-being on their motherhood journeys.
hey there

I don’t know about you, but I have DEFINITELY struggled with self confidence. And not only placing and building my confidence on the right foundation, but also how to find consistency in my confidence.

Being achievement driven (hello Enneagram 3), my natural tendency is to strive, work, and cross the finish line – no matter what it takes. And if I’m being honest, it feels good when I finally get there. At least for the few minutes in between finishing one goal and then starting on the next.

The thing is, having a goal is NOT the problem. You should definitely have them. But it’s when our confidence is placed in the achievement – whether that is from our own expectations or from others – THAT’S where things get shaky.

So sister, if you can relate to this, let me tell you loud and clear: YOU ARE NOT STUCK LIKE THIS.

And to really make sure you grab hold of this truth, I brought on a friend that has experienced first hand the results of mistakenly placed confidence. Meet Marie Wold. Marie is a certified personal trainer and fitness entrepreneur helping women find confidence and reach physical goals from an internal perspective.

When Marie found herself sacrificing personal priorities for physical results, she realized something had change. What I love about Marie’s perspective is that she is all about building confidence brick by brick – it’s not something that will happen overnight, and it’s not something you attain once you achieve a specific goal.

One way she does this? Marie sets an intention of how she wants to FEEL vs setting a goal of what she wants to ACCOMPLISH.

If this resonates with you, check out the episode because we dive deeply into:

  • Next steps to take when you feel STUCK;
  • How to sit in an empowering way even in your negative feelings;
  • Living unoffended; and
  • Ripping off those labels we (or others) have put on ourselves.

Oh, and one of my favorite parts of the interview? She turned the tables and asked ME a question. Find out my answer to how I decipher between good and bad resistance when making decisions!

This episode is jam packed with nuggets of wisdom. So if you’re feeling a bit lost from lack of confidence, or perhaps lost your confidence from lack of direction, listen in for tangible tips on how to gain your power back.
