And let me just say, Amanda has a way of bringing the truth, which is why I’m so excited to have her on the podcast!
True Confidence Vs. False Confidence
During our chat, Amanda talked a lot about the difference between true confidence and false confidence, and I really believe that this is such an important thing to remember.
Because the truth is, you can’t find confidence in yourself. It’s not something that you just dig down deep and muster up more of. If you’re trying to find confidence in yourself, then you’re building on a weak foundation.
What happens if your beauty falls away, or your bank account is emptied, or your business doesn’t perform well? If you place your confidence in yourself and in those things, then your confidence will fall away when those things begin to change.
True confidence is found in the solid foundation of Jesus and what He has already done for us. It’s not something that you muster up or create. It’s something that you receive from Him.
That’s a confidence that can’t be shaken even when hard times come.
Of course, we still often experience roadblocks in our confidence when we start to believe the lies of the enemy, and let him fill us with doubt.
When we’ve experienced pain in the past, it creates open wounds that are easy targets for the enemy to hit us with lies and fear.
But thankfully, we can combat those lies by standing in the truth of Scripture, and reminding ourselves of God’s love for us.
